Recycled Aggregates

Recycling Operations

At Welton Aggregates, sustainability isn’t an add-on to what we do — it’s built into how we do it. As the construction industry shifts toward lower-carbon, circular ways of working, we’re investing in the plant, processes and certifications needed to lead that change across Lincolnshire, not just follow it.

Our two dedicated wash plants sit at the centre of our recycling operations, turning inert construction and demolition material into high-quality, fully compliant secondary aggregates — produced in accordance with the WRAP Quality Protocol, giving our customers full confidence in provenance and quality.

Our product range includes:

  • Washed Recycled Pipe Beddings — Lincolnshire Approved, washed and graded for reliable use in utility and drainage installations
  • Filter Medias — Lincolnshire Approved washed recycled material, suited to filtration and drainage applications
  • Screened Topsoil — produced to BS 3882:2015, ideal for landscaping, restoration and general soil-forming use

Built on a circular model

Every tonne of material we process through our wash plants is a tonne that doesn’t go to landfill and a tonne of primary aggregate that doesn’t need to be quarried. That’s the principle behind everything we do here: take what construction and demolition activity would otherwise discard, wash and grade it to the same rigorous standards as our quarried materials, and put it back into use — supporting the housing, infrastructure and civils projects that our region depends on.

Choosing our recycled products reduces reliance on primary aggregates without compromising on quality, supporting the circular economy while meeting the same rigorous standards our quarried materials are known for.

Certified, not just claimed

We know that “sustainable” only means something when it’s independently verified. Our recycling operations are managed under ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems — meaning our processes for controlling water use, emissions, dust and waste at both wash plants are systematically monitored, audited and continually improved, not just assumed.

Paired with WRAP Quality Protocol compliance on our recycled products and BS 3882:2015 for our screened topsoil, this gives specifiers, contractors and local authorities a fully traceable, standards-backed alternative to primary materials — one that stands up to the same scrutiny as our quarried aggregates.

Why it matters for your project

  • Lower embodied carbon — recycled aggregates displace the extraction, processing and haulage impact of primary material
  • Landfill diversion — construction and demolition waste is recovered and reprocessed rather than disposed of
  • Full compliance — WRAP Quality Protocol and BS 3882:2015 certification, production governed by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Consistent, traceable quality — ISO 9001-controlled processes remove batch-to-batch variability
  • No compromise on performance — our recycled products are held to the same technical standards as our quarried materials
  • Local supply chain — processed and supplied from within Lincolnshire, reducing transport distances and supporting regional projects

As standards and customer expectations continue to move, we’re committed to investing further in our recycling capability — because building sustainably shouldn’t mean building differently, just building smarter.
